Iran Is Waging a War on British Jews—and Winning
The Attack Was Predictable. The Response Is Familiar.
On Wednesday, a 76-year-old Jewish man waited at a bus stop in Golders Green, a north London suburb where roughly half the residents are Orthodox. He put on his kippah (also known as a yarmulke). A stranger crossed the pavement and stabbed him. A second Jewish man ran down the same road, blood on his shirt, screaming for help. Police tasered the suspect and took him into custody.
Hours later, an Iranian-linked Islamist outfit known as Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamia (HAYI) claimed responsibility for the attack. The group, a front for the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has now claimed responsibility for more than a dozen attacks on British Jews in recent weeks, including a synagogue firebombing in Kenton and the arson of four Hatzola ambulances on the same streets where Wednesday’s stabbings occurred.
The pattern is undeniable. Tehran is running an intimidation campaign on British streets, and Britain is losing.
