The Post-Woke Fantasy

The obituary was written far too soon.

I hold Piers Morgan in high regard. He remains a thunderous, indispensable voice in a deeply confused public square. But his declaration that “woke is dead“ is a Fukuyama-scale misreading of our moment.

Francis Fukuyama famously proclaimed the end of history in 1989, just as history was preparing to prove him wrong. Wokeness threatens to do the same to Piers. It is not dead. If anything, it is more alive than ever.

Look to the northern reaches of the British state, where the Scottish Government has managed to discover a whole new tier of progressive delusion to bankroll. The Edinburgh support group “Queer Milk“ gathers men on cross-sex hormones to practice chestfeeding.

While ordinary Scots contend with endless waiting lists for basic NHS procedures and local councils fail to fill potholes, the public purse somehow finds room to finance biological men nursing infants. It is government absurdity taken to its extreme. Ideological fantasy has displaced reality, with taxpayers forced to foot the bill.

Travel south across the border, and the same pattern emerges. In England, Green, Labour, and Liberal Democrat-led councils have united to oppose new single-sex guidance intended to protect women’s spaces. The coalition refuses to implement the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) code of practice that took effect in early August. Instead of protecting women in private spaces, council leaders placed political doctrine above practical judgment, proudly declaring in a collective statement: “Trans women are women, trans men are men, and non-binary identities are fundamentally valid.”
