TWAA: To Save the West, Build and Uphold Families
Mothers, fathers, children, and extended family members are not optional players in the fight to rebuild Western civilization—they are its heroic protagonists.
Something that greatly excites me currently is the recent launch of Restoring the West Samizdat. That last word is a little unusual, but its history is fascinating and highly mission-relevant. Samizdat was a grassroots method of self-published, “forbidden” writings in the USSR that evaded state censorship. Each samizdat was often made with carbon paper and distributed by hand. It was subtle yet bold rebellion, a strike on behalf of free speech and outlawed ideas. It is in that same spirit that we have unveiled our own samizdat, a series of 25- to 35-page thematic booklets, distributed to paid subscribers, focusing on controversial topics, investigative projects, and underreported stories.
What I’m Thinking About
I’m not much of an American football fan, but I couldn’t help but notice a recent letter written by Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix to his infant daughter Riley. In it, he tells his baby girl about setbacks his family has faced both on and off the football field. He tenderly shares about finding his identity through his faith in Jesus Christ more than any trophy. And he makes clear his new top priority: his daughter. “I love you more than any win,” he wrote. That tale-as-old-as-time feeling of a new father completely besotted with his newborn struck me not for its originality, necessarily, but because its sentiments—and deeper meaning—appear so seldom in today’s media.
