Tucker Carlson’s Most Dangerous Interview Yet

A Masterclass in Intellectual Dishonesty Delivered to Millions

Tucker Carlson recently sat across from Jeffrey Sachs for two hours, and the result may be the most damaging piece of commentary on Israel I have watched since October 7. Carlson commands an independent media empire with hundreds of millions of cumulative views. Sachs brings the credentials of a development economist with 190,000 academic citations, a half-century career, and a résumé that includes advising three United Nations Secretaries-General. He is also one of the most prominent Jewish public intellectuals alive.

Carlson provides the platform. Sachs lends the prestige. The result is a libel against the Jewish state, presented as expert testimony. The claims themselves leave little room for charity.

Sachs describes the Iranian regime as “civilized” and “nice,” unfairly demonized by Western agitators. Throughout the entire conversation, he never once utters the words “Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.” Nor does he distinguish the suffering Iranian people from the theocrats who hang them from cranes, torture their daughters for showing hair, or fund the rockets that fall on Israeli kindergartens. To Sachs, Iran is a peaceful nation that hasn’t invaded another country in 230 years, a misunderstood civilization seeking only healthy relations and reasonable diplomacy. It is absolute nonsense, the kind of fantasy a children’s-book editor would reject as implausible.
