TWAA: Misandry Destroys Everything It Touches
If we truly wish to make the world a better place, hating half of it is never the answer.
There’s something so delightful about curling up with a good book: the coziness, the tactile feel of something solid and welcoming in your hands, the sound and scent of the turning pages. Perhaps you even have a warm drink as you adventure around the world and throughout history in your mind. We at Restoring the West are full-throttle book lovers—and now, we have an online book club to further our addiction. This week, we released the video of the first book club with Andrew Doyle’s The End of Woke: How the Culture War Went Too Far and What to Expect from the Counter-Revolution. Give it a watch and let me know what you think.
What I’m Thinking About
Given that I was not raised in a Western culture, I still occasionally feel as if I am playing catch up on certain trends in my new home. One of those is the relatively recent inclination towards man-hating. Far beyond traditional feminism, this hatred seems to be popping up around me. “It’s not every man, but it’s always a man” when speaking about violence, for example, or the ubiquitous phrase “toxic masculinity” slapped onto every behavior from male stoicism to ambition. Everything wrong with the world, apparently, can be traced back to men and men alone. Given my background of Islamist oppression, forced marriage, and a friend’s murder—all at the hands of men—one might suppose I would take this philosophical tack.
